Space Ibiza 2009

All eyes were on Hed Kandi this weekend as we launched our Ibiza 2009 season at our new home Space. The build up to the night started with a sun-drenched pre-pool-party at Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

Whilst peeps sipped beer and soaked up the sun and party atmosphere, Hed Kandi Ibiza resident Greg Myers played a DJ set and Crazy P played a laid back live set in advance of their DJ set and live performance at Space in the evening.

The party then went on to a sunset Savannah location for a chilled disco inspired set from Andrew Daniels whilst clubbers dined and got in the party spirit with the bar’s delicious cocktail menu.

By midnight everyone had made their way over to Space, and the place was rocking as celebrity guest DJ Tom Crane played his debut Hed Kandi set making sure that the party started via a selection of massive Ibiza house anthems including ‘Backfired’, ‘Show Me Love’ and ‘E Samba’ and also the presence of his own private dancer in the DJ booth, Girls Aloud member and girlfriend, Sarah Harding. Other celebrity appearances included Mutya from the Sugababes and Radio One’s very own Reggie Yates.

Then the real Hed Kandi magic began as Phil Faversham and Andrew Daniels took turns to spin on the decks playing a set that stayed true to everything that is Hed Kandi – uplifting house, Twisted Disco house, Nu Disco and a final hour of huge party anthems and classics.

Away from the decks and the CDJs the music on the night was also supplied via long list of live musicians and singers including Hed Kandi’s favourite songstress Tara McDonald who sang tracks which included ‘Get Down’, and ‘Feel the Vibe’.

Crazy P played a live set, a real first for a Hed Kandi event, which was exceptional and saw the crowd go crazy for the Crazy gang. They went on to play a disco set in the Nu Disco room, Hed Kandi’s exciting new addition for the Ibiza season.

Let’s not forgot Lovely Laura on Sax and Deano on percussion because Hed Kandi would not be the same without their amazing talent both musically and also for their crowd enticement.
